Sifu Marc Webster
Sifu Marc Webster (5th degree Red Sash) is extremely passionate about traditional Chinese Martial Arts and even more so about the moral codes, standards of ethics, and etiquette that go with them. For more than 22 years he has been a dedicated student under his Sifu 9th Degree Grandmaster Henry Sue. Over those decades he has also committed himself to Tong Long Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Qigong. More recently he has had the opportunity to study under great teachers of Xing Yi Quan, Bagua Zhang, and Filipino Arts in the Filipino Elusive Warrior system. Under his direction, students of Circular Tong Long Kung Fu and Tai Chi not only learn the physical skills of arts steeped in tradition and warfare but also the morality of mind and deed that is required by the warriors of centuries past. Sifu Marc leads a dedicated and highly competent team of Kung Fu and Tai Chi instructors to instil martial skills, and more importantly, life skills and values into the students of his school.
1986 - 1988 Studied Shotokan Karate.
1993 - 1995 Studied Zen Shiatsu at the Australian School of Eastern Medicine and Arts.
1993 Started studying Southern Tong Long (Preying Mantis) Kung Fu with GM Henry Sue.
1995 Started training in Traditional Chinese Lion Dancing with GM Henry Sue.
1996 Achieved Tong Long Blue belt Level 1 and was accepted into the Disciple stage training under his Sifu Henry Sue.
1996 - 1998 Advanced Diploma of Applied Science in acupuncture and moxibustion at the
Academy of Natural Therapies.
1996 - 2002 Attended seminars on Classical acupuncture and moxibustion with Masakazu Ikeda Sensei from Japan.
1997 - 2002 Attended acupuncture and moxibustion study groups at the Institute of Classical Oriental Medicine.
1998 Started studying Yang Gar Tai Chi.
1998 Joined the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).
1998 Chinese Lion Dancing for the opening ceremony of the Asia Pacific Masters Games.
1999 - current Opened the Academy of Traditional East Asian Medicine.
1999 Postgraduate certificate in Dr Yoshio Manaka's acupuncture and moxibustion protocols.
1999 Chinese Lion Dancing for the opening ceremony of the Asia Pacific Masters Games.
2000 - current Started teaching acupuncture and moxibustion at the Academy of Natural Therapies.
2000 - current Started teaching shiatsu at Massage Schools of Queensland.
2000 Chinese Lion Dancing at the Sydney Olympics Torch relay at the Southport Broadwater.
2001 Chinese Lion Dancing in Townsville for the Australia vs. China fireworks competition.
2002 Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine through Victoria University of Technology.
2002 Specialised acupuncture and moxibustion training through the Toyo Hari Association of Japan.
2002 Postgraduate certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine through Cathay Herbal Laboratories.
2002 Achieved Master Level - First Degree Red Sash in Southern Preying Mantis Shaolin Wushu.
2002 Performed Tong Long Kung Fu for the Head Abbott and the monks at the Shaolin Temple in Henan Province, China. Climbed Song Shan Mountain to visit Da Mo's cave where he meditated for 9 years.
2003 Opened the Mudgeeraba branch of the Chinese Kung Fu Academy under the direct affiliation of Henry Sue.
2004 Lecturing for Victoria University of Technology, Gold Coast Campus.
2005-06 Masters of Acupuncture, University of Western Sydney.
2006 Graded to Second Degree Red Sash in Tong Long Kung Fu.
2007 Intensive training in Brisbane with 31st generation Warrior Monk, Shi De Yang, from the Shaolin Temple, China.
2008 Invited to teach Tai Chi, Qigong, and Chinese Medicine to the guests and staff of the Marriott Hotel and Spa, Bangkok, Thailand.
2008 Completed 12 Cycles Qigong Training with Master Zhao, Chatswood and Coledale.
2008 Completed Advanced 12 Cycles Qigong Training with Master Zhao, Chatswood, Sydney and Thirroul, South of Sydney.
2009 Trained with Professor Wu Dong from Beijing Sports University. Learned Bagua Zhang Qigong, Circle Walking Basics, and Bagua Sword warm ups and a Sword Form.
2008 to current Training in Hebei style Xing Yi Quan under Shrfu Geoff (Jiefu) Sweeting.
2009 Graded to 3rd Degree Red Sash, before Sigung, Dai Sihing, Yi Sihing, and Sarm Sihing. 3 other Gold Coast Masters also grade to same level.
2010 A.-T.E.A.M. Clinic photos featured on The Doctors TV program in the U.S. The program was about alternative medicine and used cupping photos from Marc's lecturing protfolio.
2010 A.-T.E.A.M. Clinic photos featured in CNN magazine article on therapies for relaxation. Manaka Hammer and Needle photos from Marc's lecturing portfolio were featured in this article.
2010 Trained for 8 days in Brisbane with Master Wang Tong, Xing Yi Quan and Bagua Zhang Master from Beijing, China.
2010 Graded to 4th Degree Red Sash with 6 other Masters in front of Sigung and Dai Sihing Greg.
2011 Opened FitLife Martial Arts.
2011 Qualified Stretch Teacher in Stretch Therapy under Kit Laughlin, Melbourne.
2012 Qualified Stretch Therapist in Stretch Therapy under Kit Laughlin, Melbourne.
2012 Qualified in Steve Maxwell's Fundamentals of Human Movement, Sydney.
2012 Began training in Chen Style Tai Chi under Grandmaster Henry Sue.
2013 to current Training in the Filipino Elusive Arts system with Guro Elwyn Gabutero.
2013 Attended Snake Blocker's Lipan Apache Knife Fighting and Battle Tactics, Southern Cross Martial Arts, Gold Coast.
2013 Rebranded the Academy of Traditional East Asian Medicine as FitLife Health.
2013 Monkey Gym Foundational training, 36 hours under Kit Laughlin, Melbourne and Canberra.
2013 Xing Yi Quan Intensive Camp with Shrfu Geoff Sweeting, Byron Bay.
2014 Graded to 5th Degree Red Sash in GM Henry Sue's Tong Long Yuen Mo Pai Kung Fu.
2014 Attended intensive workshops with Shrfu Geoff Sweeting on the weapons of Xing Yi Quan and Bagua Zhang, concentrating on the Five Element Xing Yi Staff.
