Steelbody Qigong
with 6th Degree Master SIFU MARC WEBSTER
A rare and unique training opportunity
As we age our body degenerates. There is a loss of muscle power and the joints and connective tissues become weak and stiff. Our blood circulation stagnates and vitality decreases. Our glands function less optimally and our immune system fatigues. Rehabilitation and recovery times get longer.

So what can we do to change this?

In ancient China many exercise systems developed to combat these signs of ageing. Qigong (pronounced chee-gung) is a combination of physical exercises, controlled breathing, and meditative practices. One of the most powerful systems to gain the outcomes listed above is known as SteelBody Qigong.

The FitLife SteelBody program is drawn from five schools taught over a 30-year period to Sifu Marc Webster and Sifu Dean Monk. Both are practitioners of the Circular Preying Mantis Kung Fu system, Tai Chi and other internal arts, and acupuncture, moxibustion, and Chinese herbal medicine. After much thought they decided to combine their Iron Shirt Qigong knowledge and experience to develop the FitLife SteelBody Qigong system.

There several areas of focus for the training.

1. Breathing methods for better breath control. This allows you to increase oxygen intake and carbon dioxide output, while helping the body to maintain a more alkaline state. (Acidity lends itself to inflammation and injury.)

2. Internal pressure for explosive power. Impact training - through energy absorption and striking specific areas of the body.

3. Greater mental strength and focus using meditation with static and moving postures. This training requires a certain mindset and maturity of spirit to achieve the outcomes available to you. And the flip side of this is that persevering with the training results in a stronger mind and greater spirit.

4. Dietary and Lifestyle Modifications: while training SteelBody Qigong certain changes are made to enhance the production and absorption of energy.

Our next intensive course starts

Our FitLife SteelBody Qigong intensive is a 12 week program and is suitable for anyone in the general population who wants to increase their health, wellbeing, strength, and vitality. It is also a highly valuable course for martial artists and others that are involved in contact sports as a way to increase power and energy levels whilst also reducing the risk of injury through impact to the body.

It begins with a weekend session learning the exercises and guidelines. This is followed by 120 days of training with review sessions at our venue every fortnight on a Thursday from 6pm. The course closes with a weekend training session and demonstration of the Qi levels achieved.

All training is delivered out of our training facility in Mudgeeraba, Gold Coast.

Key elements of Steelbody Qigong
To gain the outcomes mentioned above there are two main parts to the SteelBody system.

In China it is understood that external training alone is limited. As we age our body degenerates. There is a loss of muscle power and the joints and connective tissues become weak and stiff. So we cannot rely on external training alone to prolong our health, fitness, strength, and power.

In China they developed internal training through Qigong, Tai Chi, Bagua Zhang, and Xing Yi Quan. These methods rely on internal exercises, breathing methods, visualisations, concentrated focus of the mind. This allows for development and changes at levels deep in the body where the external training has little effect.

These training methods produce the best results when practiced every day.
Non physical elements of Steelbody Qigong
It is also important to consider the diet if you are to gain the most from SteelBody Qigong. And the more alkaline your diet the more it is in tune to produce, absorb, and store Qi (energy).

Other aspects affected by training in the FitLife SteelBody Qigong system
 - Fa Jing (Explosive Power Output),
 - Emotional stability
 - Sleep patterns
 - Absorbing and repelling collision forces
 - Self esteem and confidence
 - Dealing with stress
 - Increasing longevity
 - Boosting your immune system
"A truly eye opening experience and something that has improved my martial arts training ten fold. It was a really tough and challenging training program but it was totally worth the time and effort"

"I was a little doubtful at the start however once I started it, it was amazing. The health benefits and extra energy I received just by doing the physical exercise was more than what I had expected." The other major benefit I got was the enhancement of my mental focus. It really helped me deepen what I had. I would 100% recommend doing it for anyone looking for that extra art"

"I have participated in multiple training sessions centered around the Steelbody Qigong system and it always leaves me feeling refreshed and revitalised."
